Southern Marsh Spring Collection April 2, 2012

Last weekend I had the pleasure of joining the Southern Marsh crew in Watercolor, Florida, to shoot their spring collection.  It’s a nice creative outlet for me to shoot commercial work now and then.  I love seeing the new images on the front page of their website…go over and check it out here!

Happy Monday!

Sister’s Wedding | Floral Inspiration January 27, 2012

I don’t typically like to overlap posts that we share over on Magnolia Pair with those here on Take Flight.  So I’ll keep this short.  My sister’s wedding is coming up in March (on St. Patrick’s day!), and Magnolia Pair is in charge or both design and documentation of the day.  Here are a few little pretties that are inspiring us in the floral planning process…
Venture over to our wedding blog, Magnolia Pair, to see and read more.  Happy Friday, friends!

Baby Hank January 17, 2012

How cute is that natural mohawk Hank is sportin’ ; ) I think everyone who knows him and his mama would agree that he’s one of the most loved little guys ever.  It was really special for me to photograph him, and I can’t wait to watch him grow over the years under his mama’s care.  Enjoy these few of newborn images of him!

Leela | 6 months January 10, 2012

What is there to say?  Her face says it all!  I photographed Leela as a newborn and now documenting her 6 months later is the greatest…the smile, those chubby rolls, her little personality coming to life.  I’m so thankful to capture these moments for my clients.  It makes my heart happy ; )

valle de la loire December 15, 2011

Dreaming of the Loire Valley in southern France today…I love the simplicity and the beauty of life there.  The gardens growing your next meal, the animals producing milk to create cheese that will melt in your mouth, the grapes ripening for wine.  There’s so much about the lifestyle that I resonate with and adore.  Not to mention the light just glows a little differently in the French countryside.  These photographs are a few I took of my favorite things while visiting last year.  Where are you dreaming of today?

A Few Favorites & A GIVEAWAY! December 9, 2011

Happy Friday!  Going shopping this weekend?  Here are a few of my favorite gift ideas I’ve seen while perusing this holiday season.  The first set includes a handful of cute, well-made toys that’d suit any 3-5 year old.  The second is the newest Coal Train Railroad: SWINGS!  I promise you, I have listened time and again to the first CD they made, and it’s great jazz music with lyrics kiddos will enjoy over and over.  Mom and dad love it, too!

What’s better?  To kick off your weekend shopping, we’re giving away one copy of SWINGS!  All you have to do to enter is share this post on your facebook and then leave a comment below sharing with us who you’d gift your copy to if you win.  It can be for your own kiddos, a preggo best friend, a niece or nephew…anybody you think would love the tunes!  The winner will be announced Tuesday morning!

Have a listen here: On Our Swings by Coal Train Railroad

Happy shopping!

Hi New Orleans friends!  I wanted to let you know about a great event that’s happening tomorrow night.  The Green Light District is hosting the annual holiday shopping event in the 2000-2100 blocks of Magazine Street in the Lower Garden District.  There will be live music, food and drink, special sales, and…a live Green SANTA!  And I’ll be photographing  kiddos with Santa!  Come on over to Zuka Baby to see us between 4-7pm and enjoy an evening on the block supporting local businesses and eco-friendly shopping.
The image above will lead you to ZukaBaby’s website to learn more about this amazing natural parenting boutique and resource in New Orleans.  I hope to see you there tomorrow evening!

Thanksgiving Garland November 22, 2011

I thought these festive garlands were perfect to share for the Thanksgiving holidays.  The first and last ones have tutorials to show you how to make them.  The middle one is a printable that you can cut and create however you fancy.  Best of all, the kiddos can help and share things they are thankful for this year.  The links below will direct you to the source for all the details.  Happy crafting!

Mini-Inspiration Board | Party Decor November 4, 2011

Handmade gifts and decorations are my favorite.  It’s part about the gift and part about the time and thought that goes into it that shows how much you love someone.  Any free time I have these days is spent sewing and crafting for a baby shower my friends and I are hosting at the end of this month.  Before I had all the ideas in my mind of what I wanted to create I scoured pinterest pages and other blogs to find DIY crafts and projects.  These are a few of the images that I was drawn to right away, and I love how their colors compliment one another.  I’ll wait until after the shower to share photographs with you of all that we did to celebrate our future little monkey ‘nephew’.  Until then, I thought these images served well as a mini-inspiration board for perhaps another project someone may be working on.  Happy weekend!  Will you spend it doing any crafts?
